Together, we can tackle anything

How would you define yourself?

Some of us would start off by saying we are mothers, fathers, sons, daughters.

Others might define themselves based on their job title.

These days though, those descriptions just aren’t cutting it.

Are you a Republican or a Democrat? Would you say you’re more liberal or conservative? Who did you vote for? What are your thoughts on abortion? And transgender rights?

The political racket has become so noisy that there really doesn’t seem to be a way to escape it, especially on our social media feeds.

All that banter almost forces people to feel the need to proclaim their stance on every controversial issue. If someone doesn’t agree with you, they’re shooed away. If someone does agree with you, they’re now in your circle. And worse – a first impression could land you in one of those camps, and you’re immediately stereotyped based on those first impressions.

Are you tired yet?

We are. Actually, we are exhausted.

But there is hope.

At the end of February, the Center for Peace Victoria organized a depolarization workshop through Braver Angels, a national organization that brings Red/Blue workshops to sites that request it.
