California’s “jungle primary” election process has brought a 2026 ballot with 61 candidates for governor. All voters, regardless of party, can vote for any candidate. The top two vote-getters advance to the general election in November. Is this democracy at its best or a confusing mess? Critics of the jungle primary process include both Democrats and Republicans. Is this because the general election could feature two Democrats or two Republicans? Or because it offers a chance to independents and moderates? Please join us for a discussion of this current topic, state your views, and learn what others think.

Too often, we stereotype, dismiss, or ridicule our fellow citizens who support the other political party, its leaders, and its policies.
