In Episode 2 of Bridging the Gap, Director/Democrat Dave Rosenberg and Producer/Republican Susan Gorrell leave the comfort of Los Angeles and hit the road—setting off on a cross-country journey that quickly becomes as personal as it is political.
As the miles stretch on, so does the tension. Dave’s trust issues surface as he ventures deeper into what feels like “enemy territory,” while the confined space of the RV turns up the heat between him and Susan. What begins as a mission to understand one another slowly transforms into a pressure cooker of clashing perspectives, raw emotion, and uncomfortable truths.
From Phoenix to Sedona, the Grand Canyon to Santa Fe, and across the heartland to Iowa, they sit down with Republicans, Democrats, and Independents—real Americans with real stories—each conversation peeling back another layer of division… and possibility.
On the 4th of July, the journey reaches a boiling point. In Dubuque, an explosive confrontation erupts between Dave and Iowa Republican Party Chairman Jeff Kaufmann—forcing both men to confront not just their political beliefs, but their humanity.
As the lines between “us” and “them” begin to blur, one question remains:
When everything is on the line—egos, beliefs, and identity—can we actually listen to one another… or are we too far gone to ever truly bridge the gap?
