Parents and School Boards: How Can They Work Together? – In Person

January 27 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm EST

Host Organization: Western North Carolina Braver Angels Alliance
State/Region: NC
Setting: In-person

Local Focus: Asheville/Buncombe, NC and surrounding areas

Parents and school boards are united in their desire for a quality education and a safe learning environment for students. But considering recent NC state legislation, public education is on the frontline of political polarization.

Braver Angels WNC is sponsoring a moderated discussion which aims to understand differences, to identify areas of agreement and to gather questions for further consideration. All participants from across the political spectrum are welcome and will have an opportunity to speak. Tell us what you have experienced and what you think.

By bringing “reds”, “blues”, and “others” together to speak freely and without fear – and to disagree respectfully – WNC Braver Angels’ objective is not to change peoples’ minds about issues but to change peoples’ minds about each other.
