Braver Angels: Reuniting America
The documentary covers a live workshop of participants, half of whom lean Red and half of whom lean Blue. The workshop was held in the spring of 2017 as Braver Angels was getting started and was still called “Better Angels.” A documentary film crew led by Emmy Award-winning producer Jim Brown created the film. At the end of the documentary, you will see singing by Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul, and Mary) and country singer Richard Lynch. The film is about 50 minutes.
Next Steps:
- Watch the documentary!
- If you are working with another organization, consult with them about selecting a venue and a date. If you are doing the viewing on your own, determine the date and venue.
- Provide the invitation copy to the group/organization to invite its members, or send it to your prospective audience yourself. The invitation can be modified, based on the particular details about the viewing party.
- The invitations should go out 3 - 4 weeks in advance of the event.
- For RSVP’s, you can use a service like Eventbrite, or have people respond directly to your email invitation.
- A sign-in sheet for attendees is provided (links below). On the night of the event, use the sign-in sheet to record those in attendance and their contact information. You can capture their information on your computer with the digital spreadsheet link, print out a paper sign-up form, or provide the QR code for your participants to scan and input their information directly.
- Download the Discussion Guide and the Guide for Respectful Conversations to use during the event.
