National Film Club Discussion of the Film “In Our Son’s Name”

Watch a movie on your own, then attend a discussion of it made richer by the wide variety of viewpoints that participants hold.

We choose films that address social, political or cultural issues that are relevant to society today. They may highlight liberal-leaning, conservative-leaning or independent themes, or feature actors or directors from opposite sides of the political spectrum.

We’ll be discussing the film [“In Our Son’s Name” This film is available on DVD only. We will provide two opportunities to view it via streaming over Zoom: on March 13 at 6:30 pm ET, and on March 21 at 6:45 pm ET, with the discussion following on the 21st at 8 pm.

“In Our Son’s Name”is a 64-minute documentary about recently deceased Braver Angels volunteer Orlando Rodriguez and his wife Phyllis, who lost their son Greg on 9/11. Rather than seek vengeance, the bereaved parents chose reconciliation and nonviolence, befriending the mother of 9/11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui.
