Letter: Braver Angels trying to unite

As divided as our nation is now, can liberals believe using the slogan "Defund the police!" — which many people interpret as "Get rid of the police" — is a good idea? Can conservatives really feel we'll be better off if Senate Republicans overpower Democrats to install another Supreme Court justice before the results of the presidential election are known?
