PTSD Among Police Officers: Walk a Mile in My Blues (NY – State)

06/14/2021 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm EDT

State/Region: NY
Setting: Online

Stephanie Samuels is a psychotherapist who works exclusively with police officers, and founder of Copline, a hotline for police officers experiencing anything from a bad day to a full blown mental health crisis.

Join Braver Angels in New York and New Jersey for her talk on what draws police officers to the law enforcement profession, the trauma experienced by police officers on and off the job, the ramifications of experiencing that trauma and the reluctance of police officers to get mental health treatment for fear of being seen as “weak” to their peers and being misunderstood by the mental health profession.
