Braver Conversations with Angels of Color Caucus
05/11/2023 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm PST
Braver Angels Snohomish County Alliance works with Braver Angels National through its Youth-Inspired, Family-centered Approach to Depolarizing America. Although much of our programming is Afrocentric, as our work is rooted in the necessity of unifying and amplifying underrepresented ethnic minorities in both Braver Angels and America, we welcome all to these conversations.
Race relations and racial healing work are messy, complicated, complex, emotional, and risky to all involved. Yet, our BA leaders pride themselves on being candid and straightforward, while showing grace, humility and respect.
Braver Angels Snohomish County Alliance intentionally holds space for those who want to have heart-felt conversations on the racial tension that fuels political polarization, leading to common ground and grassroots solutions.
We are “Braver Angels” and intentionally hold room for “Braver Conversations about Race” that requires each individual involved to be vulnerable, humble, and teachable. In addition, we expect all participants to be accountable for their behavior, no matter the conversation or the setting.
When attending our events you:
Consent to experience unpredictable emotional responses and stress. You may, as a participant, experience hurt feelings, confusion, frustration, sadness, anger, and/or other uncomfortable feelings. These feelings are a natural response to engaging in Braver Conversations about Race Relations in America.
WE SUGGEST that each participant use discernment and caution to evaluate their emotional well-being before agreeing to participate in our events.
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE any participant from any program without notice. For example, suppose you must be removed due to exhibiting racial violence and/or becoming non-compliant or combative; you may be removed without warning. In addition, you have donated funds or are attending a paid event. In that case, you will not be provided a refund.
Braver Angels Snohomish County Alliance also reserves the right to limit the emotional and racial violence that volunteers and guests may experience by participants’ hostile or combative behavior in online and in-person meetups.
Participants may voluntarily remove themselves from our events. However, participants who voluntarily discontinue events will not receive a refund.
