What if the People Governed? How Civic Assemblies Can Change Everything.

Public Democracy Los Angeles (PDLA) is a coalition dedicated to making LA’s governance more equitable, representative, and responsive. We advocate for civic assemblies—a proven democratic process that brings everyday people together to tackle the city’s most pressing challenges, such as homelessness, fire response strategies, and immigration. Used worldwide in countries like Ireland, Canada, and France, civic assemblies empower diverse residents to deliberate complex issues and create informed, community-driven policies to solve intractable problems.
Join us on April 29th at 7 PM PCT to learn more about how civic assemblies can transform decision-making in LA. This event with Braver Angels will explore how deliberation can bridge divides and strengthen democracy. Plus, don’t miss the opportunity to participate in a hands-on mock assembly this summer to experience the power of deliberation first-hand.
