Depolarizing Ourselves and Skills for Disagreeing Better

Political differences don’t have to divide us. This combined workshop will help you look at your own reactions to political differences while developing practical skills for having more productive conversations with people who see things differently.
- Depolarizing Ourselves explores our own “inner polarizer”—how we may stereotype, dismiss, or make assumptions about people on the other side.
- Skills for Disagreeing Better provides practical tools for listening across differences, understanding the values and concerns behind other viewpoints, and expressing your own perspective in ways that are more likely to be heard.
You’ll leave with greater awareness and practical skills to:
- Understand perspectives different from your own
- Listen so others feel heard
- Express your views without unnecessarily creating more division
- Disagree without condemning or stereotyping others
No need to change your political views. Just bring an open mind and a willingness to learn!
