National Film Club discussion of “The Coddling of the American Mind”
July 18 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm EDT
Watch a movie on your own, then attend a discussion of it made richer by the wide variety of viewpoints that participants hold.
We choose films that address social, political or cultural issues that are relevant to society today. They may highlight liberal-leaning, conservative-leaning or independent themes, or feature actors or directors from opposite sides of the political spectrum.
We’ll be discussing the film The Coddling of the American Mind.
The Coddling of the American Mind is the new 1 hour 33 minute feature documentary by Ted Balaker and Courtney Moorehead Balaker that’s based on The New York Times bestselling book by Greg Lukianoff and Jonathan Haidt. It chronicles how five 20-somethings from around the world combat feelings of anxiety, depression, and suicide that hit their generation beginning in 2012.
