Managing Difficult Conversations With Constituents

A Braver Politics Workshop that lowers the stress of difficult conversations w/ constituents across divides & helps you find common ground.
Note: This event is to be attended in person.
This workshop offers specific skills for handling conversations when constituents are frustrated, angry, or demanding. Moderators trained by Braver Angels offer clear explanations of four specific skills and guided practice around common scenarios that elected officials encounter every day. Learn how to:
• Show people who disagree with you that they have been accurately heard
• Find areas of commonality or agreement when those are present, and
• Share your view in a way that is likely to be heard by another person.
Designed for elected officials, candidates, and staff members of government units and school settings, the 90-minute workshop is interactive and enlivening. The focus is on one-to-one conversations rather than public meeting settings.
