What Is Braver Angels?
We are a national movement to bridge the partisan divide to strengthen our democratic republic through courageous citizenship. Launched in 2016 in Lebanon, Ohio, we are a grass roots organization with over fifteen thousand members in local Alliances across all 50 states. Our leadership on the local and national level is, by design, balanced between liberal and conservative.
What Do We Do?
Teach skills for Civil Discourse

Debates/Fishbowls, Red/Blue Workshops, Common Ground Workshops, Small Group Conversations, Red/Blue 1:1 conversations

Model Bi-Partisan Problem Solving (National Initiatives)
Citizen’s Commission on Immigration (in progress)
Convene citizen common ground workshops (~100) with focus on districts represented by members of the problem solvers caucus and national round-table discussions with experts (~8)
Report to the Nation, outlining policy recommendations on immigration that reflect red/blue common ground
Trustworthy Elections Initiative
Completed in 2024 with Report to the Nation
