Informational Event “State and Local Responses to COVID-19 – What Do We Think We Learned?” – Silicon Valley, CA

02/06/2021

Title: State and Local Responses to COVID-19 — What Do We Think We Learned?

Description:
As we in the Bay Area and California approach the one year anniversary of SIP and all the follow on Health Orders, vaccines are becoming available and in 2021 we see a light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately, during the year all aspects of the national, state and local response has been politicized. Masks, the definition of “essential” workers and businesses, understanding “safe” social activities, treatments, emergency orders, vaccine prioritization and even “science” are being viewed through a Red/Blue lens. Today, California is very close to the ICU capacity problem that the policy was trying to avoid.

In this session, our goal is to share our individual perspectives on a very complex topic. and to see if we might be able to find common ground on what has and hasn’t worked. This is especially important given the significant possibility that we may face similar pandemics in the future.
