Friends, Families and Politics Workshop
October 22 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm PDT
Political tension can strain family and friend relationships. Build skills to protect important bonds while staying true to your values.
About this event
Family and friend relationships can become casualties of a toxic political environment. People are having bitter political arguments, avoiding each other, or even cutting off lifetime relationships.
If you want to preserve important bonds while still being true to your values and political beliefs, this in‑person workshop will offer you:
- Insight into why differences over politics with family and friends are uniquely challenging
- Recognition of common roles people play in political conversations
- Strategies and skills for handling political differences in a constructive way
Although the focus is on family relationships, you can use the learnings in this workshop with friends or any loved one. You’ll laugh and have some fun in this workshop — it won’t be all serious. After all, we all come from quirky families and friend groups.
The League of Women Voters of North County San Diego is proud to co‑sponsor this event as part of its commitment to strengthening civic engagement through conflict resolution, respectful dialogue, and informed participation in our democracy. You can learn more about their work at lwvncsd.org.
