Equality: A Core American Value

America is a nation founded on shared values. But do all Americans mean the same thing when referring to these values? The Orange County/South Bay Alliance of Braver Angels is hosting a 3-part series exploring the American values of Freedom, Justice, and Equality, and how different definitions of these values may contribute to American polarization.
Our first event in the series was held in March of this year, and explored differing perspectives on the value of Freedom. The second event of the series was a discussion of Justice. During this, the final event of the series, we will explore the meaning of Equality. Questions explored will include:
• What are the various philosophical concepts of Equality?
• How does our view of knowledge acquisition and reason influence our concept of equality?
• Can equality be achieved?
Note: While the events are intended to be a series, each event stands alone. So if you missed the prior events, you are welcome to join us for the discussion of Equality.
We hope you will join us on November 12, 1p – 4p, Pacific, for a meaningful discussion.
