Members Meeting – Planning Meeting for Deliberative Town Hall Meeting on Voter Access and Security in West Virginia

We invite you to join us from 7-9 PM on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 to participate in planning for a town hall via ZOOM. We are targeting Sept. 28 from 7-9pm for the actual event.

The Deliberative Town Hall format is a discussion, not a debate. It is open to the public.

Panel Members are given an opportunity to present their view of an issue and offer solutions in a Town Hall fashion. Attendees will go into breakout sessions to discuss topics further (that’s the deliberative part). The end product will be a list of areas where people on both sides might cooperate.

Election laws are a subject of national and local debate. All agree that voting should be fair, safe and accessible, but there are disagreements on how best to achieve these goals.

This is an opportunity to inform the public and clarify misconceptions. We don’t expect participants to change parties, but they might just come away with a better understanding of the opinions of others.
