Please join us in a Braver Angels style debate sponsored by Braver Angels Wyoming and Montana, Wyoming’s League of Women Voters, and the Cheyenne Tribune Eagle to debate the following resolution:
RESOLVED: We should change our election system to incorporate Instant Runoff Voting (i.e. Rank Choice Voting).
At the end of an educational event on voting methods in October, the audience was invited to vote in an approval-style poll as to which voting method they would like to see in the upcoming debate. The majority of participants were most interested instant runoff voting as the debate topic.
A Braver Angels Debate is a highly structured conversation in which a group of people think together, listen carefully to one another, and allow themselves to be touched and perhaps changed by each other’s ideas. When done well, everyone walks out a little closer to the truth, more aware of the validity in opposing views, and with tighter community relationships.
