Coliseum Debate – National Debate: Another American Revolution?

Our next member panel debate is sure to be a heated discussion! Americans from a variety of political camps have claimed that the time has come for another revolution to fix what they see as broken in the current system.

There are those on the left who claim that our country has fallen into the hands of wealthy oligarchs, or that ongoing systemic racism tells us our institutions are broken, making it necessary to once again cut ties from an unjust and oppressive regime by any means necessary.

And there are those on the right who believe that the current presidential administration was installed illegitimately, and has been using the pandemic and climate change as excuses to unjustly curtail our freedoms, warranting an overthrow of that government.

Does either group have a point, and does it justify the extreme—and potentially violent—resistance that they call for?
