Communicating Across Differences with Clarity and Compassion
We have spent the last few sessions on the emotional aspects of listening and being heard and speaking to be understood. We have felt our emotions rise at certain phrases and statements.
We are honored to have Julie Gefroh, Citizen Project Coordinator at SAGE, lead our June session. This session is designed as a hands-on practical experience focused on building skills for clearer, more constructive civic conversations. We will uncover core human desires that drive reactions in tough conversations. You’ll learn simple, powerful tools to:
*Gain clarity before speaking
*Listen with genuine curiosity
*Stay grounded when emotions run high
Move from reactivity to understanding, rebuild trust, and create conversations that can strengthen relationships, communities, and our shared civic life.
