Are “triggers” real or an excuse to disengage?
Are polarizing conversations intellectual, emotional or both?
Can the energy and passion released in emotional conversations be useful?
We have worked together on some intellectual skills of having challenging conversations across the political divide. Now is the time to face the emotional side of these passionate conversations. Do you understand the flight or fight emotion that is related to the survival instinct. Can you recognize when your emotions are rising and taking over your ability to listen or communicate? Do you know what to do when this happens? Is politeness another form of disengagement. In high energy conversations when is silence appropriate and when is passion appropriate?
Join us in exploring the emotional side of overcoming otherness and condemning others for their point of view. Let’s talk about–It’s free!
