“How are the initiatives of the Trump administration affecting your sense of safety?”
Safety touches all of us, though we may define it and experience it differently. For some, safety might mean protection from crime or threats from outside our borders. For others, it might mean protection from government overreach, political retaliation, or the erosion of rights and institutions.
What does safety feel like to you–in your personal life, in your community, in our political system? This forum will offer the opportunity to listen to one another’s life experiences and underlying values that have shaped our perspectives, fears and hopes regarding safety.

We’re encouraged to share life experiences that have influenced our positions and perspectives.

We strive for participation by every attendee who wants to speak. We make room for quieter members of the group by limiting our air time, stepping back after we’ve spoken.
We treat personal stories that others share with us as confidential, unless they give us permission to share what they said with others.
