Book Discussion: “The Bill of Obligations” by Dr. Richard Haass

Dr. Richard Haass is an experienced diplomat and policymaker who served in the Pentagon, State Department, and White House under four presidents, Democrats and Republicans alike. He wrote The Bill of Obligations, released in 2023, as a reflection of divided times, a subject ripe for a Braver Angels discussion on the responsibilities of citizenship. As we have a Bill of Rights amending our Constitution, Haass makes a compelling case for a set of obligations to consider as we strive to protect and preserve our democracy.
