Much of the public dialogue around AI is centered on loss, but there are also bodies of work that explore AI as a catalyst for redefining value and human contribution.
The Age of AI Has Begun – Bill Gates
His view is that AI could transform health, education, and global opportunity.
Why AI Will Save the World – Marc Andreessen
He tends towards bold and controversial but makes his usual point about AI as a tool for abundance rather than austerity.
Moore’s Law for Everything – Sam Altman
I enjoy Sam’s take on things, and OpenAI has an open-model feedback in play…
AI and the Future of Humanity – Demis Hassabis
In a 2022 Nature commentary, he argued that the future of AI is deeply intertwined with scientific discovery and human collaboration. He’s the CEO of DeepMind. (Article is either archived or behind a paywall.)
The Future of AI is Collaborative – Fei-Fei Li (Stanford HAI)
The original link is a 404 but her advocacy around augmenting human intelligence, not replacing it, is consistent.

Below is a link to an important article that appeared in an Israeli publication called +972 Magazine. The article, which dates from April 2024, discusses the AI targeting systems that the IDF was using in Gaza in the post-October 7 period (and is probably still using).
