Alliance/Members Meeting – Healthcare in America

Do you wonder why the US Government hasn’t taken any reasonable action to make healthcare affordable and accessible? Or maybe you are curious about the role of special interest groups and how to discern the “good guys” from the “bad guys” in healthcare today. Dr. Tim Putnam will address these questions (and more) at the March 1st South Central Indiana Braver Angels Alliance meeting.

Tim Putnam, DHA, MBA, EMT, FACHE, is CEO of Rural Health Consulting and a member of the faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina. He also serves on several national boards and advisory committees including the American Heart Association’s Stroke Committee, Alliance for Women’s Health and Prevention, and the Purdue University Center for Rural and Migrant Health. Dr. Putnam has spent 40 years in healthcare in a variety of roles including two decades as the CEO of community hospitals in Illinois and Indiana. He was appointed by Mike Pence to chair the Indiana Graduate Medical Education Board and by President Joe Biden to the COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force. He lectures at several universities and speaks nationwide on the improvement of rural healthcare, the transition from volume to value, healthcare governance, rural graduate medical education, emergency medical services, and health equity. His book “Healthcare Leadership and Rural Communities” was recently published by the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Dr. Putnam will share his perspectives on Healthcare in America at 10:30 am at the Southwest Branch of the Monroe County Public Library. Following a short speech, there will be plenty of time for interaction and Q&A. We encourage you to join us on-site but a Zoom link will be available for those who need to join virtually.
