Alliance/Members Meeting – Southwest Ohio Alliance Meeting – August 2024

The events of July have fundamentally changed the 2024 presidential election, with a shocking, horrible assassination attempt, a broadly criticized debate performance, an unprecedented late change to the Democratic nominee, and two new Vice Presidential candidates. What was widely seen as a retread election is now a quite different race that voters are struggling to process, with new hopes and also new fears regarding what may lie ahead for the country.
Please join the Southwest Ohio Braver Angels for an in-person moderated discussion of this fascinating period in American history. It’s an opportunity to state your own views and to listen to what other people think, including those with a vastly different perspective, and possibly even find common ground. During the discussion, we will pose the following types of questions to stimulate discussion:
• What is your greatest hope for the 2024 election? What is your greatest fear?
• How have the events of the last month changed your view of the outcome of the 2024 election and the future of the country, if at all?
