Film Discussion: 9/11 – Reclaiming Ground Zero

After the 9/11 attacks, no one could agree what should be done with Ground Zero. And so New York leaders decided to do one of the bravest — or stupidest– things in history of city planning. They gathered 5,000 representative New Yorkers and asked them to decide. People expected chaos, yelling, maybe even a fistfight. But what happened was democracy. And it was beautiful.
Watch a movie on your own, then attend a discussion of it made richer by the wide variety of viewpoints that participants hold.
We choose films that address social, political or cultural issues that are relevant to society today. They may highlight liberal-leaning, conservative-leaning or independent themes, or feature actors or directors from opposite sides of the political spectrum.
We’ll be discussing the film 9/11 – Reclaiming Ground Zero.
