Clackamas County Braver Angels July Meeting
July 18 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm PDT
Braver Angels is not the only group working on communication across differences in Clackamas County. Come join a session offered by a partner organization, The Compassionate Listening Project. We teaches powerful skills for peacemaking. Our curriculum for Compassionate Listening (CL) grew out of our many years of reconciliation work on the ground in Israel and Palestine, beginning in 1991. We adapted our trainings for peace-building in everyday life and began to teach in the U.S. in 1999, and the trainings have continued to develop and grow through our beloved community of facilitators. We offer trainings and workshops worldwide for everyday peace-building. We also offer coaching, mentoring and Facilitator Certification.
Let’s talk about it–It’s free!
We have spent the last few sessions on the emotional aspects of listening and being heard and speaking to be understood. We have felt our emotions rise at certain phrases and statements.
We are honored to have Ilene Stark, a CL facilitator, lead our July session.
Ilene has worked with children and families, especially those who are at risk due to the impact of poverty and racial inequity, for 40 years. In addition to facilitating CL classes with parents, teachers and community members, Ilene taught CL in tandem with conflict resolution skills in a medium security prison weekly, for three years.
