The trio of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” has emerged as a center of controversy in our divided political atmosphere. Do we know what these terms mean, in theory and in practice? Is there any basis for common ground? As we approach the 2026 midterm elections—the campaigning is already underway– this is an important discussion to have. Can we disagree accurately, avoiding exaggeration and stereotypes?
