Mental Health Professional Forum - Braver Angels

The Mission

The Braver Angels Mental Health Professionals Forum brings together therapists from across the political spectrum to explore the intersection of mental health, politics, and social issues. Our mission is to provide a supportive, nonpartisan space for dialogue and shared learning, ensuring that mental health professionals are equipped to serve clients with diverse world views with competence, inclusivity, and respect.

In an era where politics increasingly impacts personal relationships, identity, and well-being, this forum offers a place to:

  • Exchange insights and best practices for working with clients navigating political and social divides.
  • Support one another in addressing the challenges and ethical considerations of politics entering the therapy space.
  • Discuss concerns about our profession and ways to foster greater inclusivity in training, supervision, and practice.
  • Explore how mental health professionals can contribute to a society where people engage across political differences with understanding and respect.

As mental health practitioners, we recognize that healing, connection and resilience thrive in spaces where all perspectives are acknowledged and valued. This forum serves as a bridge to help our profession—and the people we serve—navigate today’s complex social and political landscape with empathy, integrity, and courage
