If you want to bring Braver Angels Debates to your local alliance, community, or organization, consider training as a Debate Organizer! 

Debate Organizers are primarily responsible for guiding the organization and development of a Local Community Debate.

This training is designed to teach Organizers important skills and processes which will aid them in planning and executing a successful Braver Angels Debate in their community!

to begin on your path as a Debate Organizer.

Step 2

After enrolling, you will receive an email to start the eCourse.
Please review the material carefully.

Step 3

To help you organize your first debate, please schedule a 1:1 coaching session. See your enrollment email for details. We look forward to working with you!

FAQ

Experience as a participant in a Braver Angels Debate will be extremely helpful. If you don’t have any to attend in person in your local alliance, we invite you to attend our National Debate via Zoom to see how they work. Experience organizing other Braver Angels events, even less formal ones like socials, will also be helpful. That said, you’ll learn a lot along the way and can always reach out to us for assistance.

No expertise in the debate topic is required to be a Debate Organizer. In fact, this role is a great one to take on if there are topics you don’t know much about but would like to explore.

Debate Organizers are more than welcome to make speeches and ask questions during debates. If there isn’t a culture of Braver Angels debates in their communities already, their Chairs might want to rely on them to step in and give a speech to help establish the culture.
