National Film Club discussion of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

At this event, the Braver Angels Film Club invites you to delve into the exciting, dismaying, confusing world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with a broad collection of videos on the topic.
First is a collection of reports by CBS News’ 60 Minutes, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpOcUrPdx-4&t=3s about an hour and 20 minutes.
Next is an interview of the “godfather of AI”, Geoffrey Hinton https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrvK_KuIeJk about 13 minutes.
Finally is a BBC story of a study on how AI might destroy humanity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UufaK3pQMg about 8 minutes. Are we seeing the same risks and opportunities or are we too divided to respond to this?
Watch these videos on your own and join us on February 11 at 8pm ET to discuss this important subject, made richer by the wide variety of viewpoints that participants hold.
We choose videos that address social, political, or cultural issues that are relevant to society today. They may highlight liberal-leaning, conservative-leaning, or independent themes, or feature actors or directors from opposite sides of the political spectrum.
