Misinformation or Misunderstanding: What’s Concrete, What’s Contested and What Questions We Could Ask Instead (WA – Western Washington Alliance)

May 17 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm PDT

Host Organization: Western Washington Alliance
State/Region: WA
Setting: In-person

Local Focus: Western Washington

In today’s information landscape, not all claims are created equal. Some are grounded in measurable data—others are built on assumptions, interpretations, or abstract ideas. This interactive workshop offers a hands-on approach to distinguishing between the two.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • How to recognize the difference between concrete facts and contested claims
  • How language shapes our understanding of truth and meaning
  • What questions we can ask to clarify, challenge, or deepen a statement

Through examples, guided exercises, and group discussion, you’ll build tools for sharper thinking, clearer communication, and more thoughtful engagement with the world around you.  Whether you’re an educator, student, communicator, or just curious—this workshop will give you a fresh lens for evaluating the information we hear every day.
