Connecting Conversation: US Military Aid to Foreign Countries

March 13 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm MDT

Host Organization: Braver Angels Denver
State/Region: CO

On one side of the debate, proponents argue that U.S. military aid is essential for promoting global stability, supporting democratic values, fulfilling strategic alliances, combating terrorism, and bolstering economic and technological interests. This perspective emphasizes the role of military aid in deterring aggression from adversarial powers, protecting nations that share democratic ideals, and maintaining the balance of power in key regions of the world.

Conversely, critics of U.S. military aid highlight the risks of escalating conflicts, undermining local sovereignty, moral and ethical concerns associated with supporting countries with questionable human rights records, the diversion of resources from domestic priorities, and the potential to fuel arms races and regional instability.

This event promises to provide a platform for a deep dive into these arguments, offering attendees a chance to engage with the critical issues at stake in the debate over U.S. military aid to foreign countries.
