Building Perspectives: A Dialogue On Food Insecurity
May 2 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 pm CDT
* Local Focus: Greater Houston and Harris County, Texas
With so much abundance of resources, why does hunger persist?
In a time of rising costs and growing uncertainty, food insecurity continues to affect millions of Americans. Yet, across the political spectrum, people often hold different beliefs about why it happens and what should be done.
Join Braver Angels Houston and the Houston Food Bank for a structured dialogue where participants from different backgrounds and ideological leanings share insights and explore tough questions in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
Attendees will share their perspective on:
– What causes food insecurity?
– Is food insecurity primarily the result of individual choices, or are there other factors at play?
– If there are other factors, what are they, and how do they impact our communities?
This is not a debate. It’s an opportunity for genuine listening, reflection, and understanding. Whether you hold well-formed views or are seeking to better understand the issue, your voice contributes to the quality of the conversation. Participants from across the political spectrum are welcome.
Come ready to listen, share, and be part of a conversation that moves us toward stronger, more connected communities.
