Break Out of the Blue Bubble
April 18 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm PDT
A chance to listen, not debate. Hear from thoughtful conservatives and explore perspectives beyond the lens of our usual blue bubble.
This event is designed for those who identify as liberal, progressive, or blue-leaning who are interested in better understanding and connecting with people who hold conservative, red-leaning perspectives.
In today’s environment, many of us find ourselves surrounded by like-minded voices. While that can feel comfortable, it can also limit our understanding of others—including neighbors, colleagues, and even family members.
At Braver Angels, we engage with those we disagree with and support principles that bring us together. One essential way we live out these commitments is by listening to and learning from the perspectives of others, seeking to understand how people on the other side see the world, even when we don’t agree.
We also recognize that viewpoints exist along a spectrum within both parties, and that polarization is not only between red and blue, but within them as well. This gathering offers a chance to step outside of our usual circles in a thoughtful, respectful way.
The evening will feature a panel of red-leaning Braver Angels members who are thoughtful, articulate, and open to engaging across differences. They will share their perspectives in response to questions.
Conservative Panelists include:
Wilk Wilkinson, host of the Derate the Hate podcast (Minnesota)
Sue Lani Madsen, columnist, volunteer firefighter, rancher, retired architect (Spokane)
Elizabeth Doll, Director of Braver Politics (Bainbridge Island)
We invite you to come with curiosity and sincere open-hearted questions. Sometimes the most meaningful conversations begin when we step just outside our comfort zone.
