Join American Purpose and Braver Angels for a special edition of America’s Public Forum, where publisher and author Robert Asahina will discuss, with experienced lawyer and legal scholar Edward W. Warren, the appearances and realities of division and polarization, pragmatism and principle, compromise and collaboration, among the justices of the contemporary U.S. Supreme Court.
With presidential appointments of new justices and major court decisions unfailingly becoming the centers of polarizing whirlwinds of controversy, it is often thought that the Supreme Court is as much a hotbed of divisions as other institutions in American government. But is this an accurate way to think about it, especially with the numerous quieter decisions made every year by the highest court in the land?
We are honored to partner with American Purpose to bring this important conversation on American institutions to America’s Public Forum. Luke Nathan Phillips will give brief introductory remarks.
A note to regular attendees of America’s Public Forum: you are welcome to register for this event through American Purpose’s link, or continue through Braver Angels’s Eventbrite registration process; either way you will receive information on how to join!
