Braver Angels believes that communicating across this political division is crucial—especially at this moment. Not only are Americans divided; we don’t fully understand why we disagree. Disagreement without understanding heightens distrust, animosity, and division.

Local Debates are designed to help us understand each other. Through carefully structured conversations led by trained Braver Angels leaders, you’ll provide participants with a rare chance to disagree face to face. We don’t host debates to change each others’ minds about a topic; we do it to change our minds about each other.  That’s the starting point for solving the problems we face as a country, whatever you think they may be.
