Fostering Connections and Building Community through Story Exchange – In Person

Local Focus: This is an in-person workshop located near Bloomington, Indiana.
The South-Central Indiana Braver Angels Alliance is sponsoring this in-person workshop presented by Narrative 4 (N4), a global nonprofit that uses storytelling and the arts to foster connection and build community.
As members of Braver Angels, we have a desire to connect with our communities and step outside of our silos. We are eager to understand and be understood. Come share and hear stories which N4 believes are an essential foundation for authentic human relationships where people are free to show up as their fullest selves, and where our differences form a bridge, not a divide.
The N4 Midwest Associate, Alex Krafft, will guide participants as they share their stories with a partner and hear their stories told back to them in the first person. Participants then reflect on the Story Exchange as a group, discovering new-found truths, insights, and an untapped capacity for compassion and connection.
This workshop will also: explore the purpose, benefits, and risks of empathy in a divided world, including why empathy matters. It will also reinforce deep listening skills, and lead participants through a story exchange followed by brief discussions on how to utilize the story exchange in different capacities.
