Braver Angels 2024 Convention - Braver Angels
National Convention 2024 Recap
In June 2024, Braver Angels hosted our 4th national convention in which we launched our American Hope campaign.

The 2024 Braver Angels National Convention was an event unlike any other in our nation.

On Thursday, June 27th, nearly 750 people—equally divided between liberals and conservatives, plus many independents—came to Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to create hope in a time of despair. Our delegates, ranging from ages 14 to 91, worked together for three days—debating and finding solutions to some of our toughest problems, voting on which issue we’ll tackle in the year ahead (immigration won!), and even writing original music for our growing movement.

On Thursday evening, we kicked off our convention and hosted the largest cross-partisan Biden-Trump debate watch party in the country. Hundreds of Biden voters and Trump voters sat side by side and watched the two candidates state their cases on why they should lead our country.

Directly following the debate, we gave our convention delegates the floor to share their reactions, concerns, questions, and visions for the future. There was sadness, laughter, and a recommitment to the work of Braver Angels and why it matters.

On Friday and Saturday, we dug into conversations and debates on immigration, the class divide, free speech, the role of media, abortion, illegal protests, cancel culture, transgender healthcare, populism, trustworthy elections, racism and color blindness, progressivism, and more. We learned from each other, challenged one another, rethought our assumptions, and stayed true to our convictions.

Above all, we fulfilled our mission to create hope and pledged to continue doing so through the American Hope Campaign. If you want to be a part of this work, you can start right now by signing our petition demanding leaders take action to address the growing division in our country, attending a Common Ground Workshop on immigration to find cross-partisan points of agreement, or pledging to be a part of our Election Day activity, where Red/Blue pairs show up at the polls together.

In these coming months—and years—we’ll need your help. It’s time we make ourselves known to the nation, hold our leaders accountable, and restore the bonds of civic friendship that allow our democratic republic to thrive.
